CakeBoss Brown Butter Blondies
These brown butter blondies blondies have a glossy, crackly crust that breaks apart to reveal a soft, chewy, “barely baked” interior. After your butter is browned, you combine all your ingredients right there in the saucepan. One pan, one baking dish. It’s as easy as can be, and the brown butter gives these bars such an amazing depth of flavor. I promise these will turn into one of your favorite standby recipes! I used m&m’s and white chocolate chips for my add-ins, but you could really use any combination of candy or nuts.
½ cup lightly salted butter, melted and browned
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup light brown sugar
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1½ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup white chocolate chips (or other mix-in of your choice)
1¾ cups m&m's, divided (or other candy of your choice)
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Grease a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Melt butter in medium-to-large size saucepan with heavy bottom. Continue cooking until color turns from yellow to light brown. Remove from heat immediately.
Add sugars and stir thoroughly. Mixture will resemble wet sand.
Let cool for 5 minutes.
Add vanilla and eggs. Stir to thoroughly combine.
Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir just until combined.
Add white chocolate chips and 1 cup of the m&m's.
Spoon dough into prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Sprinkle remaining ¾ cup m&m's over top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
